Both Gary and Kelly worked in the hospitality industry during their college years, yet neither of them started their professional career in the restaurant business.

Kelly, from Leo Indiana and a Purdue University graduate, still works as an estimator in the construction business at Current Mechanical while also playing a big role in Copper Spoon's social media.  And, prior to opening, her experience with interior design helped her to design everything from the floor plan layout to all of the furnishings inside the restaurant.

Gary, from Sandusky Ohio, graduated from Huntington University with a degree in education and spent 12 years teaching (2 years at Riverview Middle School in Huntington, then 10 years at Carroll Middle School in Fort Wayne) before deciding to shift gears and jump into the restaurant business.  You can find him in the restaurant almost everyday running things, but in February of 2017 Gary and Kelly had their first child together, Ridley Isabel.  Now he tries to split time as much as possible between the restaurant and home.

Both Gary and Kelly enjoy being in the hospitality business and making people happy.  With both of them being long time residents of Fort Wayne they feel they've created an experience unique to Fort Wayne with Copper Spoon's charming atmosphere, friendly hospitality, and fresh take on food and drinks that makes it a downtown destination not to be missed.
